PRP - (Platelet Rich Plasma)

Platelet rich plasma is an autologous product (taking blood from the body and injecting it back in with a higher concentration).  PRP is the perfect treatment for clients whom are concerned about injecting a "foreign body into the skin".  It works very differently to dermal filler and toxin treatments and is great as an adjunct or sole treatment.

How does it work ?

•Plasma is the straw-colored liquid component of blood in which the cells are suspended, we call this liquid gold.

• The Plasma contains nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and many proteins such as albumin, immunoglobulins and clotting factors including fibrinogen.

Upon re-injection of the skin, the growth factors in the plasma help skin tissue to repair itself, thus improving acne scars, surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, large pores, uneven skin texture and hair loss.

What happens at my appointment ?

A comprehensive consultation is completed which includes assessment of the skin.  

​

The skin is cleansed thoroughly.  A sample of blood is taken usually from the forearm.  The sample is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the red and white blood cells from the plasma (liquid gold).  The plasma is drawn up into syringes and then injected/microneedled in the desired areas.  Results are seen within 2 weeks and will continue to improve over the following weeks.
